The Power of a Song

I sing for those listening through a noisy room

For those on the fringes, I’ll sing a tune

I sing for the lovers

I sing for the lonely

I’ll sing my song to you only

I sing a song to laugh and to cry

I sing through the lows and the highs

When the world gets too real

I sing a song to heal

I sing to remember how to feel

‘Cuz ain’t it funny how a sad song can bring a smile to your face

How a melody and rhyme can take you to another time and place

For the strength to carry on when it feels all hope is gone

I sing for the power of a song

I sing for the power of song

Because there’ll be those nights when they hang on every word

And some nights you wonder if you’re even heard

But always believe

That your words mean something

Just close your eyes, tilt your head back, and sing

‘Cuz ain’t it funny how a sad song can bring a smile to your face

How a melody and rhyme can take you to another time and place

For the strength to carry on when it feels all hope is gone

I sing for the power of a song

I sing for the power of song

I sing for those listening through a noisy room
